Coffee Bean Varieties
We offer beans from all three major coffee species, each with distinctive flavor characteristics suited for different applications and customer preferences.
Arabica
Coffea Arabica
Arabica is the most widely consumed coffee species in the world, prized for its smooth, complex flavor profiles and aromatic qualities. This large bush with dark green oval leaves thrives on mountainous slopes at elevations between 800 and 2,000 meters. The oval fruits take seven to nine months to fully ripen, resulting in beans with nuanced flavor characteristics shaped by altitude, soil, and climate. Arabica accounts for roughly 60 to 70 percent of global coffee production and is cultivated across Latin America, West Africa, India, and Indonesia.

Robusta
Coffea Canephora
Robusta coffee grows at lower elevations, typically between sea level and 600 meters. Unlike Arabica, Robusta blooms irregularly and requires ten to eleven months for the fruit to reach full maturity. The beans contain significantly more caffeine, which gives them a stronger, more bitter flavor profile. Robusta fruits are more rounded with oval shaped seeds and the plants are notably more resistant to pests and disease. Major growing regions include West and Central Africa, Southeast Asia, and parts of Brazil where conditions are suitable for this hardy species.
Liberica
Coffea Liberica
Liberica is the third most cultivated coffee species globally, following Arabica and Robusta. It grows as a strong, broadleaf tree that produces larger, irregularly shaped beans with a distinctive smoky, woody flavor. While Liberica represents a smaller share of the world coffee market, it holds cultural significance in certain regions. The primary growing areas are Malaysia and West Africa, where the species has adapted well to local climates and soil conditions.
