Kafgar KR-500 Industrial Type Coffee Roaster (500 kg)

The Kafgar KR-500 is the largest roaster Kafgar builds: a gas-fired industrial drum coffee roaster with a 500 kg (1102 lb) batch for high-volume roasting plants. It roasts 1,500–2,000 kg of green coffee per hour in 12–18 minute cycles.

The drum is double-walled ST52 steel, heated by a fully modulated Premix burner (290–600 kW) running on LPG, LNG or natural gas. A Siemens PLC touchscreen runs multi-step roast profiles, and the drum and fan have independent inverter drives. Cooling uses a suction fan, dual agitator arms and a perforated stainless cooling tray. An external cyclone chaff collector and a water-injection safety system are part of the design. Roast data can be logged in Artisan or Cropster.

Plant integration: the KR-500 measures 850x420x480 cm and weighs 12000 kg. Electrical supply is 380 / 400 / 480 V, 3-phase, 50–60 Hz, with a 45–55 kW power requirement. Foundation, gas supply, exhaust and material handling are planned together with the plant layout. The KR-500 is CE marked under the EU Gas Appliances Regulation (EU) 2016/426.
